Un año después de sus dos últimos conciertos en el Estadi Olímpic de Barcelona, Bruce Springsteen vuelve a España este junio acompañado por The E Street Band. En esta ocasión, una visita generosa con tres citas en el Cívitas Metropolitano de Madrid y otras dos de nuevo en el olímpico de la Ciudad Condal: cinco fechas que sumar en total a la relación del músico estadounidense de 74 años con nuestro país, donde ha dado hasta ahora 52 recitales en 42 años. Cuando pasen de largo, serán ya 57 en 43.
Más de 250.000 personas asistirán a estas tres citas, que se suman a la extensa lista de conciertos que Bruce Springsteen ha protagonizado en España desde su debut el 21 de abril de 1981 en el Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Montjuic. Una actuación en su querida Barcelona, que no se llenó por poco, pero en la que se congregaron 7.000 fans con los nervios de la primera vez y la expectación de lo desconocido. En total, 1,8 millones de personas han visto a Springsteen en España desde entonces (contando con que muchos repiten, eso es verdad así que, bueno, algunas menos).
Conciertos de musculoso rock de estadio con la E Street Band (y sin ellos en el primer lustro de los noventa), citas en pabellones a punto de reventar, actuaciones intimistas en solitario con guitarra y piano, e incluso esa faceta totalmente folk que fue la Seeger Sessions Band. Diversas caras de un mismo artista que ya septuagenario sigue batallando de escenario en escenario, no sin hacer frente a los lógicos y normales achaques de la edad.
